About Stepfanie Romine

Stepfanie specializes in fitness, health and food writing for national brands, small businesses and health-care professionals. She also provides writing, research and project management services for print and digital media. From campaign copy to manuscripts, she helps those in the natural products, health and wellness industries share their stories. (Client list available upon request.)

She has a degree in journalism (B.S., news editing and writing, Ohio University) and more than 20 years of experience writing for newspapers, magazines, websites and brands. She has co-authored and edited several books on health and wellness, and she frequently consults with authors and publishers. She writes and edits book proposals, copy edit manuscripts and advises on marketing plans.

Stepfanie is fluent in Associated Press style. She is a certified health coach, yoga instructor and fitness nutrition specialist with continuing education in functional movement, herbal supplements, holistic and integrative nutrition and Ayurveda.

Stepfanie Romine, editor & writer

Stepfanie Romine is an author and trained journalist who has been writing about health, wellness and food since 2008. Stepfanie is also a certified health coach and fitness nutrition specialist through the American Council on Exercise, and she has studied herbalism and holistic and integrative nutrition. An experienced registered yoga instructor (RYT 500, E-RYT 200), she has taught yoga since 2009.

Stepfanie and her work have been featured in Sports Illustrated, BODi (Beachbody), MyFitnessPal, Greatist, Forks Over Knives, VegNews, Health magazine and Oprah.com. She has previously worked as editorial director at SparkPeople.com and SparkRecipes.com, copy editor at MyFitnessPal and copywriter for Gaia Herbs and Herb Pharm. She is now copywriter for Enzymedica and Enzyme Science, and she consults for other brands.

Stepfanie is the co-author of The No Meat Athlete Cookbook, which was a Sports Illustrated Best Health and Wellness Book of 2017, as well as The SparkPeople Cookbook and The Spark Solution, which was on the U.S. News & World Report Best Diets list for several years. Her debut solo cookbook, Cooking with Healing Mushrooms, published in 2018, as did her first UK book, How to Go Meat-Free. Her books have been published in seven countries and six languages.

Now based in Berlin, Germany, Stepfanie has lived (and cooked!) on three continents. She speaks English and French, and she is learning German. Seit Januar 2021 wohnt sie in Berlin. Sie lernt Deutsch — mais elle parle toujours mieux le français. Stepfanie works with clients in the US and EU.
